Looking Back at the SCS Annual Meeting 2026
The SCS – Swiss College of Surgeons Annual Meeting 2026 once again brought together the surgical community from across Switzerland for scientific exchange, interdisciplinary dialogue and professional networking.
Research and scientific contributions were at the heart of the meeting. Abstract presentations and visual formats provided researchers and clinicians with a platform to present their latest findings, discuss new ideas and contribute to the continued development of surgery and its related disciplines.
A particular highlight was the recognition of outstanding scientific work and presentations through the awards presented by the SCS and its participating organisations. We congratulate all 2026 award winners:

Next year marks a very special milestone: the Swiss College of Surgeons will celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Under the motto “10 Years SCS: Building Surgery that Lasts”, the SCS Annual Meeting 2027 will offer an opportunity not only to look back on a decade of shared development, but also to look ahead to the challenges and opportunities that will shape the future of surgery, research and surgical education.
In collaboration with the seven base organisations, the meeting will once again begin with a course Day on Wednesday, followed by two congress days featuring scientific sessions, free communications, poster presentations and an industry exhibition.
National and international experts will present the latest scientific findings, clinical experiences and practice-relevant developments through keynote lectures, scientific sessions, interactive discussions and hands-on courses. Whether you are an experienced surgeon, a resident, a member of the operating room team or a surgical researcher, the Annual Meeting provides a platform for continuing education, professional exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Congress registration opens on 1 September 2026.
Early registration is worthwhile: the Early Bird discount is available until 9 April 2027, followed by preferential pre-congress rates from 10 to 23 April 2027.

EPA – Train the Trainers Workshop | 29 OCTOBER 2026
As part of the journey towards the SCS Annual Meeting 2027, the SCS will host the EPA – Train the Trainers Workshop: Enhancing Surgical Training Through Competency-Based Education on 29 October 2026 at the Luzerner Kantonsspital (LUKS). This one-day workshop is designed for surgeons involved in training and supervision and provides practical guidance on implementing Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) in competency-based medical education. Through interactive exercises and case-based learning, participants will explore EPA-based supervision, feedback and assessment, the use of the PrEPAred app, and effective clinical teaching strategies. Places are limited and early registration is recommended
